Watercolour Materials

Hey there,

I've added my watercolour materials list to this page.  You can download the pdf here.  I give my students this list before starting classes to set them up for success.  It does refer to Australian brands.

​See images below for the way I set out my colours.


I recommend artist quality paint as the pigments will give you MUCH better results, even as a beginner.

They last ages - especially if you set them out as you can see in the image below and let them dry.

Colours below are set out left to right on my palette.  Note:  Indigo isn't listed in my materials list, I consider it an optional extra. 

I use a mix of the ultramarine blue and burnt sienna for greys & blacks. To find out more about colour theory this blog post will get you started.
