Like many artists, once I had learned the craft of painting and was ready to make a living from my art, I struggled to find good advice and resources to help. Learning from mistakes and successes, investing in business courses and coaching, I eventually figured it out. I’m a teacher at heart, so in 2015 I started coaching other artists, sharing what I had learned.
Every artist is unique. Ultimately, we want to create art and share it with others in a meaningful way. Sometimes we get really mixed messages about what that looks like. There are plenty of outdated paradigms and unhelpful beliefs floating around out there. The fact is that the art world has changed and artists have the freedom to take charge of their careers, build a life they love and get paid well. We can do this in a way that nurtures our creativity, leaves room for the relationships we care about, brings our collectors on the journey with us and is sustainable and profitable. With or without a gallery. With or without an art degree. Here at Business School for Artists we believe that there is a specific way to start, run, and grow your art business that ensures your business doesn't end up keeping you from your studio. A way to build your portfolio and your business at the same time. We call it the Profitable Artist Method and we want to be your "go to" place for support, community and resources to grow your art business. |
